The American Cancer Society is working hard every day to alleviate the cancer burden for everyone. When a patient’s best chance at treatment is far from home, ACS’s network of Hope Lodges is here to help. The Hope Lodge Bash Gala is the American Cancer Society’s premier fundraising event in New York City, raising funds for the annual operating costs of the Hope Lodge Jerome L. Greene Family Center. The 2026 Hope Lodge Bash Gala will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Gotham Hall. Attracting 250+ area business leaders, philanthropists, and ACS supporters, the Bash Gala features a cocktail reception, seated dinner, a program with a live & silent auction, and a mission moment to directly support the Hope Lodge NYC.
American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® communities offer a home away from home for people facing cancer and their caregivers when cancer treatment is far away. Our 30+ Hope Lodge communities provide a free place to stay during treatment so people with cancer can focus on getting better. These communities provide comfortable guest suites with private baths, as well as inviting spaces with all the comforts of home, including a communal kitchen, dining area, laundry rooms, and places to gather or find a quiet respite – all at no cost to guests.
Hope Lodge guests don’t just find a place to stay – they find a community of support and an emotional connection with others facing the same journey.

We are proud to introduce the inaugural Lainie Jones Advocacy Award, created in honor of Lainie’s extraordinary legacy and the profound impact she had on the American Cancer Society community.
This award is named for our beloved colleague, Lainie Jones, who faced cancer with unimaginable strength and grace. Cancer was not new to Lainie, it was the seventh type she had battled since she was just 18 months old. Despite every challenge, she transformed her diagnosis into her purpose.
Lainie lived that purpose every day. As a dedicated colleague at the American Cancer Society, she first worked at Hope Lodge NYC, where she witnessed firsthand the comfort and sense of community provided to patients and caregivers. She later joined the Distinguished Events team and became the first staff partner to help manage and grow this very event. Lainie didn’t just do her job, she infused her work with her personal journey, using her experience to inspire others, advocate for patients, and remind us all why this mission matters.
The Lainie Jones Advocacy Award will be presented annually to an individual who embodies her courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to advocacy.
Through this award, Lainie’s light continues to shine, inspiring all of us to turn challenge into purpose and to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
For more than 10 decades, the American Cancer Society has been dedicated to pursuing better outcomes for every cancer, every life. Today, more people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Join us, support us, and help us end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
